If you went to school in the 1980s and 1990s, you would have had one of these super ingenious multifunctional pencil boxes with secret compartments and more buttons to figure out than an AI car.

This is a brand new deadstock pencil box from the 1980s or 1990s with penguin cartoons on the front. It has a thermometer that is no longer working (why would you need a room thermometer in class???) and below this, you have three buttons.

Each button triggers a different mechanism. These include the top panel that springs open to reveal a sharpener, a container of paper clips and an eraser! Press another button and the main drawer slides out. Press another button and a tiny ruler pops out from the side though I can’t seem to pull the ruler out completely.

However, the buttons don’t work smoothly all the time and you may need to tug a little at the compartments to help them along.

There is a metal stand that seems to serve no purpose.

This is a brand new unused product but as it is a very vintage product, please expect some signs of wear and tear, including smudges, scratches, dirt marks and so on.
